The Deer and the Owl

The Deer and the Owl

Once upon a time, there was a deer that was often threatened by wolf. He had tried his best to find way to protect the wolf. While he was walking and thinking, he met an owl. The owl asked, “Where do you go?” Deer answered, “I go to the west forest.” The owl continued, “What do you do there? That forest is so far.” The deer replied, “I go to rind someone who can help me.” He then told the owl his problem. The owl said, “I think it will be better if you find the nearby animals.” The deer asked, “Why?” The owl answered, “Assume that there was a drowning sparrow, does he need to ask for help from you or ask you to find someone who is good at swimming to help him? Friendship is like this. You should make friend with nearby animals and make friend with distant animals lastly because when we have problem, the one who can help us is our neighbours.” The both of them became friend ever since.

Moral values

- Having a nearby friend is better than having a hundred friends who live far away from us.
- Poor people are the true friends whom we can rely on.
- Do not be keen on making friend with the rich the rich because there is only the poor who sacrifices their powers to help us.
